a large cruise ship with many red lanterns from the roof

Chinese style red lanterns 'floating' in the air outside the Peninsula Hotel on Salisbury Road in Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon. The hotel was once occupied by Japanese invaders in WWII. Red lanterns are hung for celebration or festival activities as a common practice in traditional Chinese culture. The lanterns are hung up by wires. The Peninsula Hotel, which opened in 1928 before the Second World War and expanded in 1994, has a Baroque architectural design (巴洛克建築風格). It is a touristic place and landmark in Tsim Sha Tsui and is one of the most luxurious and iconic hotels in H.K.
