Red lanterns are hung for celebration or festival activities as a common practice in traditional Chinese culture. The lanterns are hung up by wires. The Peninsula Hotel, opened in 1928 before the Second World War and expanded in 1994, has a Baroque architectural design (巴洛克建築風格). It is a touristic place and landmark in Tsim Sha Tsui and id one of the most luxurious and iconic hotel in Hong Kong.
