The new wing of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre at the waterfront. Photo taken on board the Star Ferry from Wanchai to Tsim Sha Tsui. The Dtar Ferry provides a very low price scenic ride across Victoria Harbour. The new wing of this centre was built for the ceremony in 1997 as Hong Kong was returned to China. This is thus a political venue besides convention and exhibition. Great political ceremonies have also been held here. The flag raising ceremony is held at Golden Bauhinia Square just outside the centre on the promenade. There's also a heliport at the end of the pier.
