Sutro Baths, a historic attraction in San Francisco, were originally built in 1896 by entrepreneur Adolph Sutro and comprised the world's largest indoor swimming complex. The facility boasted six saltwater pools of varying temperatures, as well as slides, trapezes, and a museum. Sadly, Sutro Baths met a tragic fate when a fire destroyed the wooden structures in 1966, leading to its abandonment. Today, the ruins of Sutro Baths stand as an evocative and popular tourist spot, part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. Visitors can explore the ruins, which are now part of a scenic park.
