Palimpsest by Doris Salcedo With her installation "Palimpsest" in the Fondation Beyeler, the Colombian artist Doris Salcedo commemorates the fate of migrants. Water slowly seeps out of the floor of the exhibition room, forming letters and forming names. After a few seconds, the bright stone slabs pick up the drops again, little by little, until every single letter has disappeared. Every name belongs to a person, to a migrant whose flight across the sea ended fatally.
