Native to the diverse landscapes of eastern and southern Africa, the impala, scientifically known as Aepyceros melampus, graces the region as a medium-sized antelope. Singular in its existence within the genus Aepyceros and the tribe Aepycerotini, this elegant creature was initially unveiled to the European audience through the meticulous observations of the German zoologist Hinrich Lichtenstein in the year 1812.
