This timber rattlesnake (Crotalus horridus) sat patiently while I photographed it. I worked quickly, and from a safe distance with a telephoto lens, to minimize disturbing it. Rattlesnakes everywhere are often misunderstood and senselessly killed everyday. This even leads to harmless snakes being mistaken for rattlesnakes and killed. As with anything you're afraid of, I strongly advise you just learn about it. The more you know, the less scary they are.
