The most photographed place in Japan. I was worried this would be like a zoo, but going after 7 p.m. meant it wasn’t too bad. The experience of simply walking through all the torii gates is one thing, photographing tourists pretending to be geishas and carrying little dogs is another. Even a little repair truck appeared on our way down, ruining everyone’s zen.
