Red poppies are a symbol of remembrance in New Zealand and Australia, used to commemorate soldiers lost on the battlefields. I captured this beautiful poppy just as it was emerging … gentle folds of flower enclosed by the furry case. With such a shallow depth of field, only a small portion of the image is in focus, leaving the rest to the imagination.
