Horse Chestnut. From a very large old chestnut tree, at train station, in the western part of Aalborg - it has been there like forever and for as long as I can remember. It has seen both my mom, my grandfather and my great-grandfather walk by, to and from work ect. a long time ago. Now I am getting old and the tree is still there. Horse chestnut trees grow to a height of around 40m and can live for up to 300 years. Sadly in its native range is classified as Vulnerable or Near Threatened (2019). This one tree has survived droughts, numerous hurricanes and at least one world war.
