The reason points are being used is because the animation is exploring the idea of "space," as Buddhist understand it, not a celestial space, but as the idea of space; a place, or room, for EVERYTHING to manifest. Thus, the exploration begins with the thought, how can the idea of space be reduced to it's simplest explanation.
