Flying into Anchorage in February I spotted this unusual, abstract pattern of sea ice. Some of the larger pieces appeared to be as big as city blocks. I assume they get their round shape from bumping into each other, like stones on a beach. Without knowing what it is it looks a bit like oil and water.
