Every post, branch and lawn holds some number of crows at all times on the Emerald Isle. Only the seagulls, and the faster, more tenacious of the smaller avian species avoid being crowded out from food scraps, fruit-bearing trees and the like by these huge black beasts. But the more you learn about their complex social hierarchies and intelligent behaviours, the more you come to respect these most successful birds.
