A lobster trap that's washed ashore during a hurricane on New Hampshire's Seacoast. When fishing gears become lost or discarded at sea, we call them Ghostfishing Gears. Ghostfishing gears continue to entangle and trap marine life from large whales, to commercially-valuable fish. This is a particularly harmful form of marine debris.
