I was travelling with three of my friends across the Vietnam border into Laos. We were aiming to get to the capital, Vientiane, by that evening, however things didn’t quite go to plan. It ended up taking us two days without service and just talking with locals to get there. On our way we took many different forms of transportation. This photo was on the back of a makeshift taxi. This lady hopped on the back, almost like she did it everyday, grasping her beautiful child. It was amazing to see her shield her daughter’s eyes from the wind and sun. It showed that a mother’s love is universal.
