I almost didn’t get this shot, for so many reasons. I had to wake up at 4AM, and I almost didn’t get out of bed. My phone didn’t want to connect to my camera for scarily long. The compass was giving nonsense readings, meaning that until about 20 seconds before I took the shot the camera was pointed in the wrong direction and would have seen only stars. Finally, I swung the tripod around, hit the button, and waited. Then, I saw it - a bright flash in the sky. And when the image popped up on my screen, it took all my strength to not jump with joy (and freak out my neighbours at 4AM).
