Detail of Palais Liechtenstein in Vienna, a truly grand palace with a large public garden, therefore also called Gartenpalais. It was built by the Liechtenstein family in 1700. Albeit Liechtenstein is known as a micro-country and tax-haven, its ties go back a long time to the Habsburgian austro-hungarian monarchy, hence tow distinct Liechtenstin Palaces exist in Vienna, the other being the Stadtpalais (town palace) in the center close to Hofburg and Burgtheater.
