Cassowary are solitary birds that live in the Australian and New Guinea rainforests. Like their relatives, ostriches and emus are unable to fly but can run up to 50km / h and can jump up to 1.5 meters. Females generally lay three eggs but it is the male who incubates them for two months and then cares for the chicks for a year (or until they can take care of themselves). Although they have the reputation of being the most dangerous bird in the world (it is almost 2 meters tall and has 10cm claws) they are generally quite gentle and the last deadly attack occurred more than 100 years ago.
