The beautiful flowers of the Brazilian walking iris pop open early in the morning, and only last for a day, with new flowers following nearly every day for a month or so. They are very easy to grow (in the tropics) and these flowers are growing in a pot in my garden. This is Neomarica gracilis (meaning graceful), and there is a larger species called Neomarica caerulea (blue). They are called walking iris because the stems spread out, and come into contact with the ground, and grow new plants.
