Love in a mist

These strange flowers just started popping up in our flower garden in Ohio. Never having seen one before, we had no idea just what they were nor what to expect. The center of the beautiful blue flower gradually became a large, ugly, brown pod which eventually fell off the stem. The pods produced many seeds and, nearly every seed had to have sprouted. The next year we had 10 times as many of these flowers. Easy to grow, tall (about a foot and a half), and beautiful in bloom. Since this plant is native to Europe, we’re still not sure how it ended up in our flower garden.
