We wanted to go to Pike’s Peak, but it was closed due to weather. So we headed back to Denver, the long way, HWY 66 through the mountains. It was beautiful and so peaceful and isolated. It must have been fly-fishing season, because we passed dozens of fishers in the rivers. Sad to miss Pike’s Peak, so glad we took this detour.
