Bruce cuts the tall grass in our meadow by hand with a scythe, lets it dry for a couple days, then loads it onto the old farm truck. He brings it to our organic garden and spreads it out under the squash and pumpkins, to keep down the weeds and hold moisture on hot summer days. We conserve a lot of water this way, and growing our own is about as “LOCAL” as it can get. Western Massachusetts, USA. Entered in the “Climate Reality” competition.
