The Old Man of Coniston

Every year myself and my friends venture to the Lake District for an escape from the City. The first morning we were there we woke to find fresh snow dusting every field, the air breathtakingly crisp and the sky blue. We aimed to walk to the top of the Old Man on Coniston, the highest fell beyond the cottage we stay at. We walked to the foothills for an hour before deciding that in this weather the view of the Old Man would be infinitely better than the view from the top.
