Fresh Awakening

Having purchased this bouquet for Easter of 2016, I decided to capture this moment in natural light. It served to mark the anniversary of my family’s recovery from having been homeless (living in a crowded van) for 5 months. I assembled this still life before a background of golden silk, the very scrap of fabric (among few belongings) that had made the long ‘journey’ with us. This image, to me, is symbolic of ‘fresh awakening.’
