Jesuit Church of the Company of Jesus

The Jesuit Jesuit church is one of the oldest Catholic chapels of what was in the colonial era the “viceroyalty of the Rio de la Plata” (which includes territories of Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, Paraguay and part of what Today is Bolivia). It belonged to the Company of Jesus, a branch derived from the Jesuites. They also had cattle ranches and food crops for trade, and are considered the first formal importers / exporters, with the Peruvian virreynato. Today it is part of UNESCO’s heritage. At its side was founded more than 400 years ago the first university in Latin America.
