This kind of lotus flower, the local (Indonesian) name is Tunjung instead of Teratai which both are translated as Lotus flower in English. Teratai is the common big lotus often seen in photographs. Tunjung flowers only blooms in the morning, before the sun gets high. Teratai flower however, once it blooms, the petal stays open till it wilts completely. This makes Tunjung flower special, as only early risers get to see them in their full blooming glory
