On Safari on the Serengeti plain, late in the afternoon. I was heading back to the camp after a relatively uneventful day when I came across this beautiful battle scarred male Lion. In such a popular location, it is tricky to get “alone time” with the cats, and it really is special. Despite their majesty and associated violence, they are really not too distant in nature from my own (reasonably sized) cats.
