Kunefe is a sherbet dessert that is consumed very much in Turkey. There has been an ongoing debate between Mersin, Adana, and Hatay about the origin and recipe of künefe dessert for years. Although there is uncertainty as to which city the dessert originated from, it is possible to say that künefe is based on Arab culture.
