Foraging Hickory Nuts

I took this shot the day I learned how to make hickory nut syrup from hickory nuts we found while learning how to forage for food in Coyle, Oklahoma. The syrup is made by cracking the nuts and boiling them in water, then straining out the nuts and making syrup.
