Last summer, we went to Ainos for a quick beach holiday. It is quite close to Turkish/Greek borders. So close that you might get stopped by cost guard boats while swimming for crossing the borders. On a hike to top of the hills, we arrived the ruins. It is a huge castle, built by Greeks to stop Barbarian attacks. When it’s built is unknown but the oldest records show that it was repaired in 6th century. I wander around the castle, just had my iPhone with me. I got this gate facing towards the Aegean Sea between the columns and arches. It makes me feel like it is a gate to ancient ages.
