The is Sam (not her real name). Her mother asked me to photograph her while they were having lunch in downtown Knoxville waiting for the Pride Parade to come. After years of questioning her sexuality, Sam finally feels comfortable with her relationship with another girl. I’m glad to see that young people like Sam can live in a world where they are accepted and loved, not judged and disarmed.
