The first few days in China I could not help feeling that we were some place in the future. This picture reminds me of that feeling. In a land still full of traditions the contrast with the modern buildings is unreal. The morning we left for Beijing we arrived early to the station and had noodles for breakfast. No coffee. I was so sleepy I wondered why I was even wearing my camera on my neck. Suddenly, as we went down in the escalator, this vision struck me so hard I just shot without thinking. Its a very spontaneous photo and its one of my favorites from this trip.
