The highest elevation is at the Mustang capital city of Lo-Manthang 3,840m. Mustang offers a truly exceptional opportunity to explore an area rich in ancient tradition and mythology. In lower Mustang the hills tend to be great, red fluted cliffs, while upper Mustang offers an endless expanse of yellow and gray rolling hills. There are monasteries that are over 1000 years’ old, local tribal groups that have been untouched by outside civilisation. This is a land strongly influenced by Tibetan culture.
