In the evening the insect activity is a bit more limited then mid day but most things I found were thankfully moving a bit slower. Towards the end of my session I kicked up this tiny and beautiful Gray Hairstreak flitting around the field. I started out photographing it very close and trying to show off the detail. The subtle coloration on this butterfly is very pretty. After capturing those standard macro photos I turned my attention to something a bit more scenic. The sun had already dipped below a far away tree line so I started shooting in-between silhouettes.
