Having the most basic of setups, my DSLR and a nifty fifty, I changed the idea of the kind of pictures I wanted. The difference I wanted was to capture the moment as quickly as possible, to freeze the second, not to miss out on anything at all. The nature of cheap fire poppers is that they shoot out really quickly in quick bursts, compared to a generic loud and explosive firework, so this gave me the idea to have a concentrated colour, in the simplest of photos.
