Another location I go to for the Christmas Bird Count is the container yard and grain elevator at the tracks in Pointe St Charles. It came as some surprise to me that part of the 2021 supply chain squeeze was due to local ordinances that didn’t allow shipping yards to stack containers higher than 2 or 3 due to aesthetics. Some got changed because that’s a silly rule. I love the container yards. So do the gulls and pigeons, and occasionally hawks
