Kissing Bears

This photo was taken at a refuge for bears in Sitka, Alaska. Bears are taken in that would otherwise be euthanized. These bears were cubs when the mother was killed. The Fortress of the Bears provides access to roam in a large enclosure, a small lake to swim, food, hibernation caves, veterinary care and companionship with other bears. The center also provides internships for students studying bear biology and animal care. Supported solely by donations.
