I love to shoot through found objects. Shooting through broken wine glasses, see-through cloth, or vintage glass vases always gives you an unpredictable and often beautiful result. However with this shot, I grabbed an old plastic grocery bag, tore it up, then taped it to my lens. The plastic overlapped the lens and gave this ‘selfie’ an almost haunting feel. It made me think of a burning polaroid… distorted, liquifying goodness. Without the plastic bag and some generous sunlight it’d be just a shot of my shadow on the pavement.
