This was one of a hundred or so cats that lives in Houtong, a mountain village about an hour outside of Taipei, Taiwan that is accessible easily by train. Ten years ago Houtong was a run-down former mining village but has experienced a resurgence in the local economy having established itself as a cat photography destination. My first visit was in 2014, but I returned with my Bronica ETRS medium format film camera in 2016 to capture better cat portraits as part of my cat portrait project @catmapper.
