A few miles from our house there’s a nature preserve that makes us feel like we’re in the middle of nowhere, rather than the middle of suburban North Texas. We take our dog there nearly every Saturday morning so he can explore off leash while we talk and I photograph the ways the landscape changes from season to season. This is the open prairie grassland part of the trail in late October.
