The ancient capital of Bagan, known as the land of the pagoda forest contains over 3000 ancient pagodas. This earthquake prone region of Burma is in the center of the country. We were touring the outer parts of the city that day when we came across a old woman with stick in hand leading her oxen across the city. She knew how to control her herd and with grace and brute force lead the ox down a side street. This was an everyday occurrence for local residents like this young boy riding his bike.
