A Mediterranean gull from Karelia. We camped for one night on a skerry (a small rocky island) along northern shore of Ladozhskoe lake, in Karelia, Russia. In the morning we discovered that we are neighbors to a family of gulls, consisting of two adults and a chick. Apparently the gulls were anxious about vicinity of ours, and continued to patrol the island, screaming from time to time. One of those gulls you can see in the picture, it appears to be of kind Mediterranean gull, although wikipedia does not suggest Ladozhskoe lake to be part of its range.
