For a lot of people this tree is the only reason to visit Wanaka, located in the middle of New Zealands beautiful South Island. However, there are definitely more reasons to go there, for example to do the Roys Peak track or just relax at the waterfront of Lake Wanaka. Normally this tree is completely surrounded by water but due to a drought during that time there wasn’t enough water in the lake.
