Reality slap // In one of Istanbul's backstreets I met Syrian children playing on the road. When I saw that mother is going to take her daughter back to a safe place I understood that it was the time to capture this dramatic childhood scene, which I later called “Reality slap”. On my way I was lucky to find the red wall with some children drawings, while the sun was setting in, creating shadows of lanterns and trees, of antennas and chimneys from the opposite building roof. Even wire on the wall shows the moving direction - downward from painted childhood dreams to a thicket of reality // 2015
