On my way back up to San Francisco from Big Sur my friend Ben and myself were racing against the clock to try and capture the sunset. The drive (the race rather) was beautiful to watch up the Pacific Coast Highway as the sun crept below the ocean. Unfortunately we didn’t make sunset in time – and Ben started to feel ill. So I went for a little stroll trying to capture whatever I could while he took a breather. While the sunshine was gone, there was something so simple and beautiful about this solemn scene that moved me.
