This is a vintage photograph of my late grandmother, Elizabeth Stocker Rowell Mattheson, taken around 1921, when she was 3 or 4 years old. She was born on September 8, 1917 in Bradford, a town that is now part of Haverhill, Massachusetts. She was the first born child to Alice M. Rowell (nee Stocker) and Ralph R. Rowell. She was affectionately given the nickname “Betty”.
