The sole purpose of this canal and the adjacent garden is to create this view of the castle. Ever since it’s creation many have considered it vulgar opulence bordering on sin. At the very least it is so wasteful it’s hard to see anyone create a thing like this in todays age of stark minimalism And yet sitting on this strategically placed bench one can’t help but appreciate this view it creates, wasteful or not
