While vacationing with family we stopped through the ancient village of Dolceaqua, Italy and walked through the 12th century stone streets up to the Doria castle that sits on the top of the hill. Damaged during fighting in the 18th century Wars of Succession, it had this iron flower adornment that captured my attention. You can see the newer 19th-century town of Il Borgo across the way blurred in the background.
