It’s instinctive, I think, to stand like this when encountering something bigger than yourself. We’ve not been to the beach very often and the sea on this day was more than a little bit rough, the waves rushing in and sighing back out again quickly, sucking the pebbles from under our feet. I stumbled, caught myself and turned to see my daughter standing like this, inviting it all in. I call it ‘flow pose’. She felt it. The magic of nature and sea air and salt water and the wildness of the world.
