Chief Mountain stands on the eastern edge of the Rocky Mountains and looks out over the prairies of southern Alberta, and northern Montana. On clear days it can be seen from over 100 miles away. This view is looking west from Aetna, Alberta which is located east of Cardston on secondary highway 501.
